The City of Austin's Department of Small & Minority Business Resources (DSMBR) is responsible for the implementation of the certification process for the City of Austin and for ensuring that only firms that meet the eligibility criteria are certified as WBE. The program encourages minorities-owned and women-owned business enterprises to participate in City contracts by establishing special procurement goals for each contract type.
